Will I damage my GPU or CPU if I use my PS to watch TV everyday??

possible, but you will only be working in 2D mode, all modern cards usually step down their speed and voltage when running in 2D mode so this wont be a problem

My monitor is on alot more than that...sometimes for 24 hours or so. My computer is on 24/7. So you should be fine. :)

EDIT: Beat to it by 1 minute :(. Happens to me all the time.

CRT monitors last longer.
graphics cards shouldn't overheat if you didn't o/c or take the heatsink/fan off. if you didn't and it does overheat, its not your fault and the manufacturer should replace it for you.

Wow! Really!? That mean I CAN replace TV with monitor, inestead of buying both. I'm planning to study in USa this year, and I'm planning to get a kick-ass PC and have my very own media centre where I can do everything from my computer:)

It can really save me lots of money if I just get a larger monitor instead of a TV and monitor.

It's good to have a computer monitor though, with my "media center" i needed to use the PC monitor to enable the TV output every time i restarted.

By the way guys, how exactly can I use my monitor to watch TV? Can I watch and record regular channels too? Or just Cable TVs?
