Will I have a problem with this?

Just keep your NorthBridge stable. If you see overheating, then tone done the OC.
What Ram are you using to Overclock?

Corsair XMS2 DDR2 1066Mhz 2x1Gb.... I plan to OC it to be 1333Mhz, what the E6850's FSB is supposed to be. I plan to OC the E6850's FSB to 1777

you want your RAM speed and your FSB to be the same. this is called a 1:1 ratio, that is how you get the most out of your rig

I know that, I am not too dumb, it wouldn't hurt to OC the CPU though and squeeze out that little extra bit of performance. How would I OC it, I know the multi is locked but, will I need a divider?

Thanks

yeah, but you might not get extra performance. having 1:1 ratio ensures the best performance because the clock cycles match up. there is some super complicated mathematical equation that includes RAM latencies, northbridge cycles, power consumption, and all kinds of other factors to tell you exactly what you should set your clocks to, but i honestly dont remember where i saw it. but anyway, if you want to OC the CPU past the RAM all you do is change the FSB, you dont have to touch the multiplier. for example, my multiplier is 8, my FSB is set to 400, which gives a true FSB of 1600 and a total CPU clock of 3.2ghz. my RAM is DDR2 800mhz, accounting for the double, it is effectively 400mhz. 400mhzFSB = 400mhz RAM = 1:1 ratio. thats how i have mine set

My Ram will be 1066Mhz so /2 =533Mhz and the stock FSB is 1333 /4. If I got the FSB to 533Mhz, that would be 4.79Ghz:eek: I wish, I think I can, too. The multi is 9 on the E6850. I will set the latencies to 4-4-4-12, also.

well, you could always lower the multiplier. if you are going to OC the ram you might have to loosen up those latencies a little bit, but you can play with it and see what you can get. make sure to keep us posted!

Yeah, I will be the first on the forum to have an E6850, maybe not the first to get it running, or get my new vid card.
