Will i need a video card?

Hi guys. I have two computers in my house and 1 has a oldish graphic card or video card (8mb the graphic card is) . when i watch youtube videos on it, it lags out a bit.

Will i need to buy a video card to improve quality and performance?

if you are only going to be watching videos and stuff then i wouldn't have thought video memory would be a problem, i mean integrated works fine. It may do because the video memory is so low, but you could probably use a $20 card and it would work quite happily
 
Youtube/Flash objects primarily use use CPU power. The video card/video memory has very little to do with the actual performance.

You sure it's not your internet connection causing your videos to lag. I have a 5 and 6 year old Pentium 4 computers that have onboard video cards and both play Youtube videos just fine.
 
if the computer is fairly recent it could be covered in viruses, slowing it down.

It could also be the processor

One time I had a celeron laptop 1.4 ghz that would run youtube fine until it was dropped. The hard drive was damaged and the computer became very slow. Youtube became choppy.

post the specs of your computer and we can identify the problem

No, not for Internet viewing
The Internet speed is governed by your ISP and what speed you have paid for
Sometimes a more Ram or CPU speed (for caching) helps, but that's all
