OK - heres my spec - i know its poor - especially compared to some of the sytems in here - but i joined as i am upgrading slowly lol
Anyways...
My system is
asrock ks741
512mb DDR 400 Ram (one stick)
AMD xp 2000+ processor

Ok , anyways, knew to this thing, i have just had a 256mb stick changed to a 512mb stick around 2 days ago
Im liking the increase in speed, and know that new ram is easy to install
I was thinking of purchasing another 512mb stick of ram, but was wondering whether this is 2 much compared to what i have, ie. poor processor
However, im not currently confident on changing processor, mobo
But will be happy to change ram
the cost of the ram does not bother me

But was still wondering...if once again i will notice the difference?
Thanks

Yeah, you should definitely notice a difference, I have 768MB with a 1.6GHz P4 and am glad I have that much. If you're not that concerned with the cost, I would do it for sure, I'm just not sure in my case because it would only increase the RAM 256MB to go to a full gig...

Yeah, im guessing will be around £30 - which i dont mind at all lol
I was just seeing if the increase will be noticable
How do other people feel...:P

Oh yea you'll notice a difference all right. I had 512 in my laptop and managed to upgrade to about 1.25 gigs of ram and now I'm moving lightning quick. Make sure that your system can handle up to a gig though, you never know.

how do i know if it can handle it?
iv listed my specs just to help people lol - check the first post in the thread
thanks...

I've done some googling, and it seems the motherboard can take 1GB of ram, but its a rather elusive motherboard to find, and I can't be sure for definite; it might be able to take more.

Yes i did sorry
I have ordered a Kingston Stick @ 512mb
My friend has came to me with a problem of his computer getting slow after age, i will first take all routes software wise that can improve speed but i think i will offer improving RAM for him after the performance increase i have so far received
Thanks for everything:D

Yeah i understand the limits
Just checking whether my current specs will still allow RAM to increase perfomance noticably
I have been assured that it will
