I'm upgrading my GPU in my Dell Studio XPS 8100. Doing so means I will also need to upgrade my PSU. I already know the GPU I'm getting and it needs at least 450W. I'm thinking about getting this PSU

As long as your pc is a standard tower it will fit. If its a slimline case then no it won't.

It is possible to fit new 500 watt into your system. However; I should warning that most OEM desktop will not fit with over 750 watt PSU if it is too long. Not all OEM desktop will support SLI/Crossfire.

OP- Good choice on the PSU and it should fit your system just fine.
