Will it harm RAM if I scan it from the scanner?

OK this may sound stupid, but I'd like to be on the safe side. Will it hurt the RAM if I scan it? I'm selling some on EBAY and I think I would get a better picture with the scanner but I don't know if that will hurt the RAM or not.

All you're going to get is a black object...it isn't going to have any detail and you won't be able to see anything but a black spot that looks like a stick of memory.

Scanners are designed for paper.
Paper is flat.
VERY flat in fact.
Memory is not that flat.
The scanner is not going to scan memory very well at all.

But, I guess you're asking this in the memory section, in fear of damage to the memory. Well, I can't see a xenon or cold cathode fluorescent light damaging it, considering people put these same tubes inside their computer

Don't you have (or have the ability to borrow) a digital camera? You'd get a much better picture than with a scanner (although I agree it won't damage). Lay it flat on a white piece of A4 paper, take the pic with a flash, then crop the image.

Alternatively, search online for a generic picture of some RAM. So long as you list the specs, people will know exactly what they're buying without a pic of the actual RAM.

Hay hold on here, I got a great resolt!! here is what it came out as, look!

It did so good I'm doing that will all my flat objects!

yeah, I don't know what the other guys are talking about, I've done my face before and it turned out excellent :D. Seriously, any scanner worth its weight is gonna be able to do that.

How do your think people print their butts on the high school copyer? Pluse my digital camera sux. It's only 2 Mega Pixals.

You know I love to stand corrected every once in a while, it teaches a guy humility. Those scans are great. Nice one.

Well it's always better to know the truth than to live a lie. I would show the camera pics but there not worth the trouble and there horrible, no shake protection...holy blur. Has any one ever looked inside of a printer or even see the light coming out of it, well that explains why it doesnt turn out to be black, or else not even paper picture would come out right cause all of the inside would be black!
