Will it work or not?

Hey guys, I have as Asus board model # m3a78 pro with an am2+ socket and a phenom 9550 2.2 ghz quad core processor. My question is can i put a phenomII processor on this board? Like a 945 or a 955?? i keep getting different answers..Will that processor run correctly with my ddr2 memory? Will i need to do a bios update?? Any info will be appreciated.. Thanx
 
Don't know what bios revision you are running but would need to update to at least version 1305, you'll have to visit Asus's website to download it.
