will my cpu slow these cards down so they arent at the fullest potential. i was thinking of getting a 6800 gt, 7800 gt, or the 7800 gtx 256 or 512 mb version. how much will the 512 mb version cost. will my cpu be a bottleneck at all. cpus in my sig. and whats the ati equivalent of all three of those cards.

I'm sure that your cpu will bottleneck the 7800GTX 512MB one, and maybe on the 6800GT too. I have seen the 78GTX 512, for $700+ usd. Not sure what the ATI video card equivalent is. If I find it later, I'll update my post or something.

Without a doubt it will bottleneck a 7800.

by how much would it bottleneck it by. would i still to be able to play games like battlefield 2, call of duty1+2 and fear in highest settings with minimal lag

i couldnt promise you fear, i mean that aignt the quickest processor out there.
you should be able to play them, maybe not highest settings

You may be able to, but just be prepared if you cant play it on the highest.

You can toss in a 6800GT or an equivalent X800XL there no problem and at a very good price/performnce delta. They won't be bottlenecked yet give you very nice performance in BF2, COD1+2 & FEAR.

Judging by your monitor I assume your aiming at running games at no higher than 12x10 which should'nt be a problem with these cards.

If to go with the 7800GT/X or the competitor X1800XL get a 256MB card, the price/performance ratio is much better.

what's the processor number? ( like the 530, 630 etc)

That would be a 520.

i think it will bottleneck, considering an upgrade? you should be able to play almost anything on at least medium processor settings though
