Ok this is really stupid, I know you will find tons of this post on this page but here is whats going on. Here is a discussion made by some one over on another forums. You can read it here: http://www.tech-forums.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=129055 This Killan dude is trying to tell me that ps3 or future console will always be more powerful then pc and then pc will take the place back after a while and the cycle goes on blabla.... (read it on the second page) and there is another guy saying playing game isn't all about graphic and stuff. What I really want to know is if what he said is true about ps3 is going to out perform pc at first then pc will catch up again? I'm not a console person like I states in there, mostly pc just recently join 360 community due to GOW.

hey i agree with u, a game console is a computer!!!. these guys think they r experts in game consoles but what they r saying doesent make any sense.

Yea, I dont get why people always trying to prove that blablabla is better then this blablabla, while they where acturally still using what we use the most to communicate(aka pc).

The PS3 is going to suck.... They are only using a 7800 core.
The 7800 are an outdated card that can easily be outperformed by a 8800.

Game consoles can use junky components for their systems (in comparison) and still get away with it, because they can fully optimize the components for gaming. With a computer, it has to perform well over a larger variety of situations.

While the new consoles might have been better than the DX9 cards out there (for a short time), the 8800GTX coming out made the new consoles obsolete. Now we just wait for DX10 games :D

I think the dude in the post is really die harded fans of sony :). but yea I couldn't agree more about the DX10 is going to be ownage. So I better save up now hehe :).

Completely correct. The eye candy on a new console usually looks better for about two years or more than the most up-to-date computer (within reason, of course...). Plus, the game engines can maximize the resources available for the console. However, if Sony had been able to release their console a year ago when they originally slated it to be released, then we'd all be saying how good it will look... But thanks to all the complications from the Blu-Ray drives, that won't be happening...
