Will the Antec SmartPower 2.0 hang with this system?

Hi all, I am starting to piece together parts for my next computer so they'll be shipped by the time I get the new machine. I found a killer deal on the Antec SmartPower 2.0 (500watt) on newegg after the mail in rebate...

I have this PSU in my current PC and the thing is super quiet and I've never had a problem with it and I want to use it again if it'll power this....

HP a1730n computer:
- Athlon X2 4600+ CPU
- 2 GB RAM
- 1 320 GB HD

Additions:
- 7950GT graphics card, possible upgrade to the 8000 series in the future.
- Dual monitors (extra power consumption by GPU?)
- 1 additional DVD-ROM
- Mid level Creative sound card

- No plans for additional hard drives
- No plans for RAM upgrade

I am pretty sure this PSU will work I just want to make sure. Thanks in advance!

Ifi you're going to upgrade to the 8 series later, then don't go with Antec Smart Power 2.0. They're more or less budget powersupplies.

Okay, after your suggestions what I think I'm going to do is buy it and if I do infact decide to go to the 8000 series down the road upgrade the PSU at that time. Normally I wouldn't worry about it and just buy something upper-mid-range off the bat but $39.99 + shipping after rebate is a smoking deal. I paid $109 for the one I have now although it was from a retail store over a year ago. Thanks for your input guys.

That Antec unit shouldn't have any problems with an 8000 series card, particularly if it's not a top-end card. It's a great deal, although I have heard repeated reports of poor QC on the Smartpower series over the last few months.

ceewi1, I have heard that too. The one I have now has been problem free and dead quiet so I am willing to roll the dice on another. The Antec brand name doesn't worry me too much. If it comes back to haunt me it will be my fault because I have heard the warnings. Is the SmartPower series discontinued now?
