I think the pentium series was discontinued when they released the dual cores... I doubt they will make any more under the "pentium" name..

They still use the Pentium name. I say it will hang around for awhile for lower end. Just like Athlon for AMD. Just like AMD used Athlon for the 7750. The Phenom II without L3 will still be called a Athlon. Dont think they will use the Pentium 5/6/7/8 model number anymore though.

Yea they did away with Pentium and now are naming their processors "Core". I don't think there will ever be a P5.

When did he say that the Athlon X2 was crap? He was just stating facts, and it is currently toward the low end of AMD's CPUs right now. It's still a great value.

Sure, i7 is here, but 775 Pentium isn't gone yet
