Hi,

I am a complete novice to building and matching parts together. I have done a fair bit of research on the net but am still not sure whether the RAM is compatible or not.
Can you please let me know of this build would work:

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-970A-D3
Processor - AMD FX 6100
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 500GB
Memory - Kingston 8GB 1600HX
Graphics Card - Gigabyte HD 6870 1GB
Case - Bitfenix Shinobi
Optical Drive - Liteon IHAS324 DVD-RW

Thank you!

not sufficient at all. It is a subpar brand. You will need one from Antec, Seasonic, Silverstone, XFX, Corsair, NZXT or PCPAC. These are good brands that wont crap out on you anytime soon.

OK,

I had a look at the Antec NSK2480 (380W), but then I will need to change the motherboard as it only support microATX.

Otherwise would the Cooler Master Centurion V II (500w) work?

Cooler Master is a hit or miss brand. They have some good PSUs, but they are few and far between. It is best to steer clear of them.
