will this be fast enough?

i am getting a laptop soon and because i am going to be working with video i want to have enough space. right now, i'm thinking of getting the "Iomega® External Hard Drive 160GB Hi-Speed USB 2.0" to go along with my 80 gig internal drive. but, i've read some reviews on the external drive and one of them said that it takes forever to transfer video (25mb/s). will this be a problem for me if i'm only uploading 15 minutes (at the most) at a time? also, the laptop i'm most likely to get is the (customized) toshiba satellite a70 if that makes a difference.

You should be fine. What type of video are you doing? DV? I do some of my editing on my laptop with an external 60G I have(USB2) It's not as fast as IDE, but I've had no problems when captureing or editing.
