Will this break my MOBO???

Nah, anything made by a reliable brand that is meant to be attached to a mobo wont break it. As long as your motherboard is properly secured to your case, the weight should be mostly supported by the case, not the motherboard.
 
So you've now installed that HSF? A friend of mine offered me one cheap - to go on my system in my sig...
How's your temps improving?
 
ECS isn't exactly known for making the best products.
I'd be wary, but it should hold up nonetheless.
 
Not all boards are the same.

My X58 mobo is like...thick, like cardboard almost. (not quite)

I recently bought a Foxconn M61PMV and that thing is like paper. (not quite)

Just saying, they're not all made with the same integrity.

but at the same time i dont see many motherboards at all being destroyed by heatsinks. as long as the motherboard is properly installed, it'll be fine.

i havent installed it yet, the ups tracking number says i should be here wednesday. my temps so far are

IDLE - 44

GTA 4 - 62

Nice. Mine's running a tad cooler, even though it's a 955 3.2ghz rather than a 940 3.0...
Probably due to my case and the fact that my crappy memory is running at 800mhz rather than 1066 - even though they have monstrous heatsinks...
Mine's getting idle temps at 33, load after an hour of Far Cry 2 is usually around 49... So far I've got up to 3.8Ghz, and booted into XP and gamed for a few minutes, and temps didn't get over 60, but, I'm not going to exceed 3.5Ghz till' I choose a much better HSF. I also am using AS5 BTW, not the shabby "grey matter" they try and pass off as a TIM nowadays... at least it's better than the old bubble gum stuff! lol

Oh, and you never need to worry about a board actually "breaking"... all a PCB needs to do is bend just enough to break a few pipelines and it's junk... This usually only happens to newbies installing big, heavy, aftermarket GPU coolers though.
