will this build work

Hi, I am making my first build and I just want to make sure if it is going to work. I'm not so sure about the graphics card though I don't think its good for gaming.

If you mean latest games, you're right. 6850 seems to be a sweet spot for price/performance. How much do you want to spend on the system?

how about for counter strike source and left 4 dead 2 could the 5670 work?

Counter strike even an onboard card can handle.(I think even a calculator can play CS now)The 5670 will be more than enough for those games.But if you plan on playing higher end games then you will have to upgrade for full res but at low-medium settings you can play them on the 5670.
