Will this motherboard and CPU work in my computer?

About 2 years ago I purchased a $500 starter gaming computer. Its a pretty nice starting computer, nothing to brag about but not bad. Then I purchased and installed by myself (bad idea) a new graphics card and power supply for the computer. Since its black friday, I wanted to buy a new 144hz monitor and a new motherboard and CPU. Im not the best with computer knowledge and wanted to make sure before I purchased the motherboard and CPU that it would indeed work with my computer.

The computer itself: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2546170

That combo is quite expensive and underpowered. Look at something like this instead if you can't strech your budget for Intel: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4Rrc8d

You're also buying the same CPU in that bundle. You got the compatibility down for sure though :P

I don't quite understand what you exactly want... The pc you bought already has an fx4300, why are you wanting to buy a new motherboard and the same cpu? What motherboard does it currently have?

The motherboard it currently has is a MSI 760GM-P34 (FX), I didnt know it had the same CPU as the one I was looking to buy with the bundle. Would you recommend upgrading the motherboard or cpu?

If you are having gaming performance issues then the video card is the actual problem. The R5 230 is a very low end card. What games do you play? Your current board will accept the fx8320E

I really dont play much pc games to be honest. The most I play is Counter Strike Global Offensive, but occasionally will play a big game like DayZ or Arma 3. I just assumed buying a better motherboard and cpu would help my computer with running the games.

Look at getting an R9 270x and a good 500 watt power supply from corsair or similar. The problem is definitely the video card you are using. You already have a quad core processor at 3.8ghz so that should suffice.
