Hi, I am looking to upgrade my computer for heavier games. I am looking into the ASRock X99 Extreme4 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard. Will this work for my specs and if not any suggestions? Looking to stay under 250 for motherboard, maybe 300. Can upgrade other parts to get this board in. Will I need to eventually change my case to get the pc better or does it not matter?
Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.66GHz
RAM:
4.0 GB
Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Operating System:
Microsoft Windows 10 (build 10586), 64-bit
BIOS Version:
Dell Inc. 1.0.13

If you need any other specs, just ask.

Uhm. You'll need a new motherboard, new processor and different ram. And a new OS. If you want to keep existng then you need a better video card and better psu. But I would recommend getting a new system. Your's is extremely old.

You will need to use a different case as well.

As said above, you'll probably want to build from scratch. You can probably keep your harddrives at best. But harddrives that age is probably not the best thing to re-use.

What's your budget in total, we can probably throw some suggestions for you in terms of what to get. I see you want to grab the X99 series... so I'm assuming your budget is looking at around ~$1500-2000 to play some "heavier" games?

As others, with that board you'll need a 2011 CPU and DDR4 RAM.

The C2D/C2Q will only fit and function into 775 boards.
