will this motherboard work??

will an Intel Pentium 4/ 2.4C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K Cache, Hyper Threading Technology work with a motherboard with FSB:400/533MHz? i want to know what would happen if i use those two products, if it will work f it won't work. my concern is that the FSB is different. here are the links to the products- Motherboard processor

It will work however you wont be running it at 2.4Ghz but at a reduced clock. Suppose the 2.4C runs a 200x12.0 ... now with a 533MHz FSB youll have a 1.596GHz processor 133x12.0 ... nothing to say you can OC though but you wont hit the same clocks.

Whats the budget involved? :)
 
1. Who's talking about two processors?
2. There's only one processor involved. Depending on the mobo it runs at either of the two speeds. :)
 
ok your processor will run at 2.4 ghz with an 800mhz fsb, when you put it in a 533/400 fsb board the processors speed will drop. 800fsb is a quad pumped 200mhz bus, 533 is 133 quad and 400 is 100 quad. The multiplier on the processor is 12, thus 12xbus speed = processor speed

Heehee, i though that was somewhat evident :P (nice to see that BUS and FSB werent misused)
