Hi,I have just bought a motherboard and some RAM. I have just noticed that the motherboard does not take quite the same RAM as I bought for it.
The motherboard is an 'ECS Geforce 6100SM-M MATX AM2 DDR2' which, it says, supports DDR2 533/667/800 memory modules at 266/333/400 MHz memory bus.
The RAM I have bought is 800MHz PC6400 DDR2 800MHz. Will this work?
Thanks for your help

The AM2 processors memory controller supports up to DDR2 800 so why do you think that ram wont work.

In the OP's defense, there *are* a lot of companies, types, speeds, etc. of RAM. Many flavors to choose from, if you will, and sorting them all out and picking the right one could be overwhelming for some. I was like that too with RAM at first, but don't tell anyone! ;)
