Will this setup work for me?

Gosh, I never knew building my own system would be so difficult. I'm having a hard time figuring out which processor is compatible with my motherboard I think you have to go by the socket type right? Ok, heres the system I would like to get:

ATI Radeon® 9550 256MB AGP Video Card
Creative Labs Sound Blaster® Audigy™ 2 Value (SB0400)
Logitech® X-230 2.1 Stereo System (970123-0403)
Insignia 17" CRT Monitor - Black Model: IS-CM100641

Well, that's about it, this is my dream system. Thanks for taking the time to help me out with this daunting task.

Are you sure? What do I have to look for to tell if the motherboard will accept the cpu? I thought it was the Socket Type. It matches with the LGA 775 cpu socket type. I plan on using it for just about everything gaming, video editing, video encoding, dvd burning etc... Do you think that's a good enough cpu? I don't know much about this 64-bit porcessor stuff, but I hear it's better than the regular cpu. My budget is about 1200. I may collect these parts over time if what I listed is over that, because money is a bit tight. Thanks.

Wow man i like that case/tower
i might get one of those myself..
lol it does pay off to look at people's threads.

and me thinks he means wrong board as in you *posted* in the wrong board
this is motherboards..

yea that should be compatible, though im not an intel expert. LGA 775 correct? another thing is DONT GO WITH AGP! it'll be a mistake. also... sata150? sata2 is out bud, go with 4 sata2 ports! id get a different mobo LGA 775

1) I must say nice case!
2) The way to tell if a motherbaord works with a cpu is generally the number. So your 775 mobo will work with your 775 cpu.
3) The 3.4 ghz should do nicely along with the ram you are getting. Remember as a general rule, amd for gaming intel for multitasking e.t.c But it seems you are looking to doing both so I recommend the Intel.
4) The 1200 budget I presume is dollars? The 300gb hard drive may be overkill, unless you have really considered how much space you will be using.
5) Other than all that, nice system :) Have fun.
