hi all,
I am looking at putting vista home basic on my laptop and ran online checker and said it would have no issues. I am just asking if it would run smoothly and not have too many problems.
It is a lenovo 3000 c200
Mobile Intel Celeron M 370, 1500 MHz (15 x 100)
759 MB (DDR2 SDRAM)
Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family (128 MB)
32.2 GB
ty for any help

Your going to want AT LEAST 1 gig ram to run vista in a bearable manner, 2 gigs optimal. Also, Celeron M would not give you to much processing power. So in short, yes you could install it and use it but it would not be a very pleasant experience.

you can install it, it will boot, but it really isnt going to be a very good experience. you will probably be much happer sticking with XP. You wouldnt be able to use Aero either, and after the vista install, you wont have very much harddrive space left

That will run it, however as others have said, I would highly recommend getting at least 1GB of RAM. And with RAM being so cheap nowadays ($45 for 2GB of DDR2 667), why not just get 2GB's?

ok thanks for help. I'll get 2 gb of ram. the harddrive doesn't really matter as i have external drive i use for laptop so i have more space.

geting 2 gigs of ram would be great, but i dont think your processor will be good enough, sure it will run it but might be a bit slow or not, matters what you want to do

Definitely get 2GB of RAM. That will speed things up a bit, but your processor is what your problem is going to be. Not that it is bad, it just wasn't made to run an operating system such as Vista. Things are going to be a bit slow, and I am not sure that you are going to be able to experience Vista to it's full potential (if it has one), but you should be okay running it.

ok thanks for help. I might try dual boot on my comp in sig and update laptop for christmas etc and do vista on that later.
