Okay, now I know how to setup a Homegroup. Now, I just need to know the following and this may sound really stupid to ask too, but I can't find the answer on the MS forums.
If I want to access files shared on Homegroup by my PC in the other room FROM my laptop here with me, does that PC have to be turned on?
Edit: Finding people reviewing Homegroup now and saying it's a POS and that it's the worst thing MS ever came up with. If anyone else agrees with this, what's better than that? Is there some program I can download that'll do the same thing? I thought about hooking up my external hard drive to my router via USB, but I checked and I have no USB ports at back of router.
