I have a Win 7 and an XP machine. They are both in the same workgroup. But I cannot see the machines on either the XP or the Win 7 machine. I believe that I have the shares setup correctly on both machines.
Make sure you have Network Discovery, as well as file and printer sharing turned on in Windows 7 (Network & Sharing Center > Change Advanced Sharing Settings).
