Thinking about a new build in the next 12-18 months and would like to have Win7 as my OS. Should I worry about being able to get my hands on one at that time or should I maybe buy one now, just in case?

I'm not sure if it will still be on sale in a years time. It probably will, but if you wanted to buy it now, Home Premium SP1 64-bit is only 100 bucks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986

No harm in buying it now so long as you keep it safe for when you need it.

Windows 7 should be available for sale at least for the next few years.
