Hello folks,
I have a win 98 se system with a pentium 3 processor (1 ghz) and a 256 mb ram. I would like to add a dvd writer drive to this system and was wondering if any one knew what specs would work on my system. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks in advance.

the ones i viewed stated on the cases that i would need pentium 4 1.3ghz and at least 258ram.thse were the ones with lightscribe and double layering. i was wondering if there were any that would work with what i have got.

i just bought a NEC 3550 for my eMachines and so far have just played a dvd on it but have to find a program to burn. i found Roxio (sp?) but dont want to spend 30 dollars when i am going to build and the OS i use then supposedly will have that capability included.

I successfully ran a DVD burner on an older Dell Optiplex with a 1.2 GHz Celeron and the system requirements for that particular burner was a Pentium 4 running at 1.5 GHz.
