Win Xp Re-Install

I'm looking to reinstall win xp but i do not have the official cd for it as it is an old laptop. I was told to use the recovery console to do htis but i get the message " Cannot find the EULA". I was then recommended to format and partition the hard drive. If i just format the hard drive will this delete all the core files i need to reinstall win xp?

If you format or repartition and format a new primary all data currently on the drive will be lost immediately. To perform a full install of Windows without the original recovery disks you will need a full install disk bought retail or OEM in order to install a fresh copy of Windows.
