Win XP service pack 3

I'm still on SP2. to be honest i'm a little scared of upgrading. heard all sorts of nasty stories about windows needing to be reinstalled.
I would like to get sp3, I have Office XP Standard. apparently sp3 mucks around with office and you have to reinstall?
quick upgrade or don't upgrade answer appreciated.
 
I'm running SP3 in xp on my netbook,Upgraded from SP2.

I have not had one problem with it, it's been fantastic.

I would highly recommend you update.

As for your office question, I don't know about newer releases of Office but i have Office 2000 installed and it did not affect it at all.
 
well good news! im getting it installed as we speak. or type.
whats it like for games? better i hope?

Yeah, there's hardly a difference between SP2 and SP3. The only difference I've seen so far is that it says "Service Pack 3" in the OS Information Window.
 
well its all done. I restarted to find the following issues:

Windows was unactivated
My AVG wanted to reinstall

But its all good now.
 
dunno about sp3 but i HATE sp2 -->> it stopped my internet from running cuz i cant sort it out cuz its in CHINESE!!!!!!!!!
