First of all, i got a problem with my grpahics card, as i began to see green pixels all over the screen and it got to one point where the computer just shut off, i tried turning it back on but it would just stay on a loop restarting after the windows loading bar,

i decided to remove the graphics card, and instead tried using the integrated graphics on my MOBO, but i had the same looping result, i then decided to pop in the Win XP cd, but it wount even detect that, so i took that out

now everytime i turn on the pc, i have to make a selection of Start Windows normally, safe mode ..... but doesnt matter what i choose, after the windows progress bar i get a black screen that just stays there, so now im really lost.

I dont want to lose any of my data on my HD as they are important, i have considered buying a external hard drive enclosure to try and get my data by plugging the HD into another computer, but i dont know if it will work, what should i do ? , what could be wrong with my PC ?

- Windows XP
- 2 GB Ram
- 250 GB Hard Drive SATA
- Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L Mobo
- Intel Core 2 Duo E7200

Well, when using the XP CD, make sure that you're booting from CD. There should be something one the screen that you see as soon as the computer powers on that mentions "boot". Probably something along the lines of "Press F12 to Select Boot Device". If it still doesn't work then something is likely wrong with either the CD or the CD drive.

As for the other issues you are having, I would actually guess that you have two separate problems here. The "green pixels" is almost definitely a graphics card problem, however the looping might be caused by something that you had changed with the intentions of fixing the graphics problem. If you can get the Windows CD to boot, then running CHKDSK through the recovery console or doing a repair install might fix the problem.

Also, pulling the hard drive and hooking it up to another computer is a completely viable option for pulling the data off.

yes i see the option for a boot up device but when i select the device i want to boot, the option box closes and the pc continues like i never pressed the button, also right before the "crash" the cd drive was working alright, i also tried using a booting cd and a booting usb flash drive, but they weren't detected ...
