Win2000 Error msgs are driving me crazy!

Some time ago, I had a DVD decoder problem, but it was solved once I downloaded the VLC player.

But before that, a friend of mine told me to go to a website, and said that I might be able to find what I was looking for there. Whatever I clicked (I think I accidently clicked the download button!!!), I got some viruses, and even some trojans, which my anti-virus program picked up and took care of.

I did scan the whole comp for viruses, but nothing was found.

I also installed, the Yahoo Anti-spyware and Ad-aware program(the latter which I have now uninstalled)

These programs picked up some tracking cookies, and even some registry keys. (some Alexa thingys) which I deleted coz I thought that they were not needed since the programs picked them up.

After that, my computer started acting funny...I started getting error prompt etc.

It didn't really bother me, coz I could just click OK and continue with whatever I was doing....

But, I realised that my comp was running a little slower, so I downloaded Spybot.

Now, I keep getting error msgs, so what can I do???

Is there a way I can just go to the microsoft website and put back whatever I ignorantly took out? Is there any way to fix this? (Btw, I don't have the Win2000CD here)

And the error msgs are mostly about the Internet Explorer.

I'm almost sure it was coz I deleted something!!!!

Please Help...I don't know what to do...

All I wanted was for my computer to stop running slowly and get rid of spyware...
