hi,

i am running vista and cannot delete the spyware "Win32.Trojandownloader.zlob", i detect it using adaware. my problem is is that i am running vista and smitfraud doesnt work with vista. i need a solution to eliminating this spyware

Are you running the latest Ad-Aware SE Personal found at http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php or an earlier version?

If you are running the Ad-Aware 6.0 without the SE in the name you owuld need to remove the older version for the replacement. If you were running XP the thread found at Lavasoft would be of some help. http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=4533

am definetly running the latest adaware v1.06r1


still, i cant delete it cos when i click the box in hijack this and click "fix it" or whatever the button is. it is still there when i run the scan again
 
You may end up booting up in safe mode to manually remove the registy values if you are familiar with getting around in the registy itself. There omly the Windows basics would be running. Make a note on the exact description of each value and travel at own risk there. That's one thing about going into the system registry to consider. If you knew which processes were involved if seen at all you could end them in the task manager and then try using the fix option again in HT.
