hello all,
I recently have been using WHS for backing up all my computers @ home... but i've decided to switch to a regular OS system to do file sharing from itunes... Currently i'm sharing my movies, tv shows, and music (all purchased from itunes T_T) from my main computer (listed below). I have managed to fill out my entire 1 tb harddrive! lol sux....i don't think iTunes can store media on multiple drives. and it is too late to raid in another drive with out formatting everything i currently have... WHS has so far been a pain the the a$$. For somereason (i don't know if this is the standard) but my monitor receives no signal when WHS has loaded. So i am unable to install iTunes on it (if it is even possible) so i'm thinking of just changing the OS on that system to windows 7 or maybe ubuntu linux(since its free, but i have no experience using it)
questions:
is there a system that is better on power management? these computers will be on 24/7 for the most part, but always trying to be green.
is iTunes able to be installed on linux?
and is raiding harddrives together for linux problematic?
my whs system is a SUPERMICRO MBD-X7SPE-H-D525-O Proprietary Intel Atom D525
4gigs ram
and 4 1tb samsung spinpoint f3 hds
