When I do a fresh install of windows 7 64bit home premium it works out fine, I can connect to my existing internet through the motherboard ethernet connection after installing the network controller off the cd, but after I install windows 7 updates it somehow gets rid of the network adapater completely, and won't let me reinstall the driver after all the updates have finished, has anyone else experienced this?

have you checked in device manager, in network adapters to see if there are any problem triangles

lol that's the thing, there is NO network adapter there after installing the updates, and I tried reinstalling my network controller from the mobo CD and it says that it can't find the network controller.

do you know what drivers you installed, i never use windows update does more harm than good and most are just useless little updates that dont do much, next time you reinstall try just installing sp1 then your ethernet driver

Does service pack one install with the CD or do I have to do it manaully? and do you think i would be good after installing SP1?

i would download it manually that way you can save the file, so you only need to download it once one everytime you reformat.

obviously one of the updates that have been installed is causing a problem if it was fine before, either reformat or uninstall any of those recent updates, then install sp1 and try again.

you can get sp1 from microsoft download center

Then simply do not use updates... -_-
I keep telling people to NOT use any updates if EVERYTHING is working perfectly.Use ONLY THOSE updates you really need.Otherwise if you do not need updates, what's the point in updating for christ sake...you just risk your system for nothing...
