win98 print slow

hi...

i've 10 pc's which all connected through LAN, some of the os winxp n some win98...there's one pc controlling the printer for printer share, that's using xp, all xp pc print using the lan printer smoothly....nothing problem...but some win98 pc take at least 2 minutes to wait after clicked print button...after that printout...all the win98 using 256mb sdram...i defrag which ever pc print slow...but the result still same...how to fix this problem? pleasseeee....

try installing the pirnter on the win98 computers individually, that is put the printer on onley one computer. Do some test prints and install the printer on the next wind98 computer. Use the most up-to-date drivers and window updates.

98 is outdated, and probably his office softwares only support XP...


Memory does not make a difference. I'm guessing that it's the network, and the other computer. The O/ses may take some time to "decode" the other O/S... Otherwise, the printer is slow...
