window blinds problem

I am having a problem with window blinds on XP, sometimes after playing a game the taskbar will appear in broken up blocks like so...

..it will then SLOWLY render into a full taskbar, but certain icons will be missing including the start menu button.

the version of window blinds i'm using is v5.0 and the skin is called 'noire', but I have also used a few other skins, such as 'ares' which I have had the same problems with.

Its annoying having to restart explorer 2 or 3 times after playing a game until it works correctly.what should I do? thanks
 
You are not changing the resolution and playing the game in a different resolution then your computer is set to in windows are you? I have seen this in the past and it was generally because the windows resolution was different and it was trying to redo itsself i usually fixed it by refreshing the desktop as well...
 
well i am not manually changing the resolution but maybe the games i play change the resolution automatically, i only play two games really, soldat and fear, and soldat is only an old 2d game, which probably uses a lower resolution, but im not sure?

what do you mean by refreshing the desktop? if you mean ending explorer.exe and then running it, then this works fine, it will restore itself properly (sometimes I have to restart it 2 or 3 times), just wondering if there is any way that I could configure windows or my games so that i wouldnt have to keep doing this?
