window Or not?

what do i need to put a side window in my computer? never done it before and dont wanna mess it up lol.....if you have done it may i see pics?
 
in that case make a small hole with a dremel or somethin and then use tin snips or a cutting head on the dremel to cut out the hole. make sure the corners are really rounded, so any molding you put on will form to them easily. then buy some lexan from a local hardware store and put it on.

dont buy acrylic either, it may be cheaper but it is more brittle, scratchable, and isnt QUITE as clear.
 
Most people buy cases that already come with windows, if you want to make your own you need a dremel tool, and you need to buy plexiglass and the molding. Much easier to simply buy a case with a window IMO.

yeah i see that now....would my gateway components and mother board fit in a standard atx case?
 
If Gateway uses the standard ATX form factor, then it should, but they could be like Dell was and used proprietary components.

Depends on the type of desktop, Dell has been using the BTX standard for quite some time, and while it actually does offer some improvements, they used proprietary connectors so you wouldn't "easily" be able to swap out components. They actually used the same style connectors, however the wiring was different.

Dell has actually recently switched over to the ATX standard now, so almost all their motherboard 'should' be compatible with other cases.
 
go on gateways website, if its anything like hp's you should be able to search for your model and figure everything out that way
 
i've got an ATX Case and the side window just pisses me up
i see all the dust... andi cant clean it because it's in warranty
 
eeeeem...i dunno...it hs some lights on the side and in the front..i'll try to find out the model...
