Just a general query that I am throwing out there...

Has anyone else tried out the "Bash for Ubuntu for Windows" feature in Windows 10 fast build insider preview? It is pretty awesome!

I have found that it tends to barf when I try to run applications that require "taking over the terminal" like top and htop, and possibly something like less. Just wondering if anyone else has found this, and just what do you all think in general.

This is what it looks like if you are wondering. Seems Microsoft have identified the fact that a lot of people who use Windows use a lot of Unix utilities. Implementing a release of Ubuntu (albeit an old version... Y NO 15? Isn't this meant to be an insider preview rather than a long term support? ;) ) seems like a clever direction to go, so that people don't have to run two different operating systems, or Virtual Machines, which unless you have a semi decent PC, can be quite resource heavy -- not suitable for the average laptop that is running on battery!

I'm not entirely sure what people need this for, but I do imagine some clever people can utilize it.
However, going 14.04.4 is better than 15.04/15.10 in my opinion, because of the LTS :) Been playing with 16.04 a little, it's quite nice.

I wouldn't be surprised if they jumped to 16.04 before release since that's a new LTS that was just released. It seems like an awkward angle to implement Ubuntu dependencies though when they could just provide bash itself (which also seems like a weird angle since Microsoft).

Plenty of more powerful capabilities than command prompt
