Just a curious question. When Win10 is released and I upgrade my Win7 computer to Win10 can I legally install my 'old' Win7 copy onto another machine?

Only retail copies of Windows 7 can be re-used when no longer in use on another PC.

That depends on where he or she lives. In Europe you can buy, resell and use OEM copies of Windows on any PC of your choice.

If you use the free upgrade doesn't 10 use the same pin number that your 7/8 had. If so you probably couldn't install your 7/8 on another computer while still running 10.

i don't think you can use win7 pin # after you upgrade from 7 to 10,you don't need any pin or key,it will activate itself because win has your file ,if you need to install a clean install it will be verified by MS to give you the green light to activation.

If you upgrade to windows 10 then that license converts to a windows 10 license after 30 days. You will not be able to reinstall 7 on another machine using the same key.

Good thing I can just use a spare Vista license if I decide to try upgrading :D
