Windows 10 start menu

I recently installed Windows 10 on my Dell Vostro 260. It has a Nvidia EVGA 750ti graphics card, 8 GBs of ram and a core i3 processor.

I have encountered a problem from day 1 of the install that is really annoying. It seems that every second time I boot it up, the start bar doesn't work properly. What happens is; when I click start, the start bar comes up, but I can't click on anything! The items highlight when the mouse rolls over them, and they also flash when I click on them, but nothing ever actually happens! It's really weird!

It's not just the start bar that does this, the lock screen also won't respond when I click on it either. After rebooting, everything works normally. What the hell is going on?!

The only reason I can think of, would be that Dell doesn't support the drivers for this machine. But the only drivers that I needed to install according to device manager, were the sound ones. I installed the windows 7 drivers and the sound works perfectly. Anyway, I fail to see how this issue could be driver related.

Anyone got any ideas?

Create a new user profile, to do this you’ll need to press Win+R then type in control panel. Now select User Accounts>Change Account Type>Add New User in PC Settings. You’ll see a couple of options that that allow you to add users to either your Family or just General use. Set one of these up and see if that solves the problem. Don’t delete your original ID though, as you’ll want that once the bug has been patched.
