Hi everyone at the end of my rope trying to upgrade a Lenovo B50 laptop to windows 10.
I prepared the laptop by fully updating it etc, then when everything else was down I started the windows 10 upgrade via windows update only for it to fail, it has failed numerous times and I have had 2 different error codes, both of which I googled and troubleshooted which mainly involved stopping windows update service, clearing temp update files, then restarting windows update.
I have also disabled secure boot just in case, but keeps on failing after it has fully downloaded.
Firstly I have just got a windows 10 disc that I bought for another desktop, it is the same version as the one in the laptop, so does anyone know if I can use that disc to install clean on laptop and still get the windows 10 upgrade using the windows 8.1 key in the laptop.
Also is it unlikely factory restoring the laptop would help with upgrading via windows update.
