Hi I have an aging self built gaming PC, approx 15 years old. It has an I5 2500K sandy bridge processor and an Asus ROG gaming motherboard to suit. The GPU is a 1080. It will not run window 11 and remain stable I have been informed so I need to think about my options, do I do the minimum to get it to run W11 which I think is get a new motherboard and processor or do I go all in and do a new build. I want a new build but my wife wants a holiday. Anyone else in the same boat and any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You would need new ram as well since you currently have ddr3 amd would need ddr5.
Yeah I thought I might, I'm just getting into researching it now as I haven't looked into it for a while. To be honest I think I'm going to go down the new setup route, maybe water cooled but I'm not sure if the perfomance boost is worth the extra money but then it would be mainly to reduce noise levels as the pc is in my living room.
