Windows 2000 Upgrades

if there isn't a windows 2000 pro, why is there a windows 2000 professional home page??

also, i cannot get the windows update function to work. It doesn't seem to scan for updates.

Windows 2000 versions:
Windows 2000 Professional
Windows 2000 Server
Windows 2000 Advanced Server (Up to 72 Processors)
Windows 2000 Embeded (For Devices)

ummm... how do i work that out? The people at IT said i needed PRO to install iTunes. Either that or service pack four, but i can't get service pack four until i run windows update, and for somereason that isn't working.

You need service pack 4 then. There is no non pro version of Windows 2000, as it was released intended only for businesses. A program like iTunes would never require a certain edition of an OS, only that you have it up to date (SP4).

iTunes Windows Requirements

* Windows XP or 2000 (latest service packs recommended)
* 500 MHz Pentium class processor or better
* QuickTime 7.1 (included)
* 256MB RAM
* Supported CD-R or DVD-R drive to burn CDs
* Broadband Internet connection (DSL/Cable/LAN) for buying and streaming music

Additional Video Requirements

* 1.5 GHz Pentium class processor or better
* 32MB video RAM

rightt. hmm, it's not working? Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, try that, pick your language on the right, then click Go, i think you do the Express, and not the Network download, let us know if that worked.

I have tried that already, but it comes up with:

a device attached to the system is not working AND

the SP4EXPRESS_EN.EXE file is linked to missing export NTDLL.DLL:strstr

:confused:
