Ryt i need a bit of help, i have a Dell optiplex GX250 computer runing Windows 2000. The problem is that i have two users one with admin ryts and one without, and i only know the password for the user without admin ryt's and i want to upgrade to Windows Xp. How can i do it? would geting a new hard drive and just swaping them round work ?

you don;t need to have admin rights to install XP, you just boot with the xp disk in and follow the instructions on screen, you don't need to spend any money on hardware, just buy xp, shove in the disk then restart and follow the onscreen instrucions when it boots from it

and btw: you spell right's right's not ryt's

I cant boot of the CD, i went in to Bios and tryed changing where it boots from but it only has one option and that is boot of floopy disk which i dnt have any more as i took it out cus i never use it.

i new some one would say something about that but i could not be bother to chnage it :P

that is odd, maybe the option to boot from cd is deep into themenus, or it could already be enabled but you don;t know it, when you start your pc, before it starts loading windows does the light on the CD drive come on, or show anysign of activity??
