Windows 7 aero turned itself back on???

So I never had issues with aero showing it's ugly junk up on my pc with the old mobo but soon as I end up afk for an hour with the new setup (enough to turn screen off for powersaving) aero decides "oh maybe you want a resource wasting ugly effect on all your stuff...

Anybody know how to completely remove aero so it doesn't turn up uninvited again? I dislike how it looks and find it showing up without being invited extremely annoying.

control panel>advanced system settings>performance>settings.just uncheck the visual effects you dont want.
