Windows 7 Beta Help!

I have just found a download i did last year from Microsoft for Windows 7.

If i put it on now how long will i have before the evaluation period is over ?

the beta is scheduled to end in august.

im not sure if the release candidate that comes out next month will have a longer time span than the beta. or you could buy it.

actually i am unsure what it is. i am sure it is Windows 7. but i dont know what version (RC1, beta :s) how can i tell ?

and + i dont understand it all about Pre-release. RC1, Beta :S, it was just there and i got it

There should be a watermark in the bottom corner telling you your version. Beta is before retail, RC (release client) is something they would hand out, it's a possible distro for release.

To clear up the time that the beta goes for is as follows. If you have a valid CD key it will last until August 1st, 2009. If you don't have a CD key then it will last only 30 days.

does that tell you anything ?

Yes, all beta releases will run-out on August 1st. I'm not sure about the RC's though (when they come out). I would still recommend seeing if you can find anything in BIOS that has to do with your processor and virtualization.
