Windows 7 booting problem

Okay. So I've built myself a nice little computer. Everything worked fine for a day (I used it about 12 hours total. I was happy). I continually checked to make sure all of the tower/GPU/CPU fans were running and that everything was staying cool. I installed antivirus software as soon as I brought my computer up. While I was making a simple little java program on my computer it just randomly restarted. Quickly, I checked the heat in different areas on my computer. Everything was still going and all of my fans were going. I started my computer again and it was working fine. About 5 minutes into using it though it shut down again. I checked the cooling on my computer. It was still fine. However, this time when I went to start my computer it came up to use system recovery. I ran this about 5 times. When it ran though my computer would restart in the middle of it. I tried bringing up my computer in safe mode but it still kept restarting before it could come up. Finally, I figured something else must have been wrong. I switched out RAM sticks and tried using previously unused RAM slots on my motherboard. I made sure everything was hooked into my power supply properly. I just booted this computer for the first time yesterday and it has worked fine so far. It just won't boot now and I can't get into safe mode to check drivers (I think they'd be fine though. I just installed them yesterday and made sure the ones that came with the computer parts were up to date.) Like I said, I got antivirus software already. What annoys me the most though is that I can't even check for a virus, and I can't check my drivers. My computer won't run system repair and it won't boot into safe mode ( it won't boot normally either)... I'm not getting a BSOD so I don't know what's going on. Here's what my computer consists of...

Motherboard - Gigabyte 990fxa-UD3

RAM - Patriot G2 series 1600 Mhz (2 * 4Gb)
GPU - EVGA nVidia Geforce 460 gtx SE
PSU - Thermaltake 775 Watt toughpower
HDD - Western Digital Cavier Blue 500 Gb
Tower - Rosewill ARMOR Case
OS - Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit

Sorry. I forgot the CPU
EDIT: CPU - AMD phenom II X4 cores 3.2Ghz (can't remember number)

Thanks for the help.

Okay... I think I've solved it... I think my tower's restart button got jammed. Immediately after unplugging and starting my computer again it came up the whole way without problems. I'll see what it does the next few days and hopefully that was it... I guess I'm going to have to leave a negative review for that tower case... Oh well.

hi guys, actually I have the same problem with souphead, but my restart button is not jammed or anything. normally when it keeps restarting I just keep choosing to start windows normally and not going to windows repair. it would take 2-3 tries till i can get my computer working. anyone have any thought on this? thank you.

What is the temperature of your processor?
Also are all the fans/ventilators spin properly?

Usually when you start the computer, some BIOSES shows the CPU temperature at the boot so read that and let us know.
Also some BIOSES have the option called SHUTDOWN TEMPERATURE so make sure it is not set so something like 40 or less.I set mine to 75 which is the maximum :D Thank God it never reached more than 50 :D

Still computers may restart for many other numerous reasons which does not even have to be hardware related.
Did you install any software recently, changed any settings in ANYTHING recently?

Cheers!
By the way my processor sucks! It's socket A and 10 years old!GOD DAMMIT :D Still I like it xD

Hi STARS.

I actually dont know nothing about computer, I only use it for work.

would you be kindly tell me how to set the temperature?

But as far as I remember this problem start when my friend always use his own mouse on my desktop. then this problem started. but again it might simply be the temperature :D

If your Windows 7 is not booting, you can follow the instructions given below to fix the problem. But before proceeding make sure that all system hardware is working fine.

1. Turn on your PC, insert the Windows 7 installation DVD and then reboot your machine. If you have created bootable Windows 7 USB flash drive, insert it to start the process.

2. Press any key when prompted to do so. Once you press any key, you will see Windows is loading files.

3. Once you see Install Windows screen, select your language, keyboard or input panel, and time format and finally click Next button to proceed to the next step.

4. In the following screen, you will see Install now button along with repair your computer option at the bottom of the screen. Click Repair your computer option to see System Recovery options box.

5. Select your operating system also select Use recovery tools that can help fix problems.

6. Under System Recovery options, you will see tools such as Startup Repair, System Restore, Windows Complete PC Restore, Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool, and Command Prompt.
