If you go to amazon.com and put into their search
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional With Service Pack 1 64-bit - 1 PC
They are selling it for $92. Now I know that there is something wrong with this picture, however I am looking for windows 7 full (Not OEM) I don't think you can buy them anymore, but it sure looks like that is what they are selling at amazon.com. When you tell me what's wrong with this picture would you know where I can buy a Windows 7 non OEM. When I build my system and if it gets thrown in the sea and sink to the bottom I would like to build another system and put my windows 7 back on which will save me from buying another copy.

Yea sure looks like full version but when you scroll down it says OEM in Product Description. Kinda deceptive.

Microsoft has change the rules so many times I need a lawyer to understand what's going on such as "This software is intended for pre-installation on a new personal computer for resale" Just what does that mean? It sounds like I have to sale the computer I built because it's a different OEM and if so just how many OEM's are there?

From what I understand OEM operating systems associate themselves with the motherboard of the system it's first installed on. You can reinstall it all you need as long as it's installed with the same motherboard. You will have to make a phone call to Microsoft to activate it on a different motherboard - Just explain that you've had a motherboard failure and had to change it. Don't worry about the "Resale" language.

exactly.unless you need ms "hold your hand"support it will do just fine.ive taken oem and activated it on new hdwr with a phone call to microsoft.it will also be enough for your free upgrade to windows 10.

I've heard people doing what you say about the phone call to Microsoft. I can afford to lose $100 anyway, guess I just worry too much. . Thanks
