I have a pc with xp pro and I want to install windows 7. Should I partition, wipe the hardisk clean or just install windows 7 over xp, if thats possible?

Your only option is to format and clean install.

Boot from the disc, select "Custom (advanced)", choose your partition, Format, Next...

virus removal w/ clean download

would the clean install take care of malware and worm.win32.netsky virus thats on my computer now?

Yes, cause once you delete your partitions and format, it erases everything.

Except it doesn't delete boot viruses, but I am 99,99% sure he doesn't have it so format and clean install of Windows 7 will work. =)
Nothing to worry about. =)

You can only do a clean install when upgrading from XP. As stated it wipes everything except a possible boot virus.
