i'm trying to install windows 7 on an older computer (emachine t3092) and it says before i can start i need to install required cd drive drivers. now, i'm trying to use the drivers from the website but it keeps returning an error saying it couldn't install them. how can i get around this?

Try to Plugin another DVD Rom drive..looks like Win7 doesnt like that drive..
No drivers...
You can try another thing (but its far from good because if something goes wrong
say byebye to your board) is updating your BIOS so it can be POSTed
from your BIOS directly to WIN7 Installation.

well if i use another cd drive (ie my drive from my other computer) any chance i can get the first to work after windows 7 is installed?

just remenber to check if it can read DVDs ok?
or else you dont gona be able to read the instalation DVD of Windows 7.
and by the way, how much RAM do you have in that machine? Is
it still the same 512MB from factory?
If so, you gonna need at least 1024MB (1GB) for the 32Bits instalation
and 2048MB (2GB) for the 64Bits

while i've got a thread about windows 7 open...i've got microsoft office 7 on my xp pc. will the same serial key work on 7?
