windows 7 media player question

I use it view local news. don't watch tv on it. Seen a few old programs like sea hunt or something. More curious than anything. Question is can i save or burn to say cd or dvd?
If i had an interest.
im using windows 7 Pro 64 bit if it means anything.

Movies? Like you have a TV tuner in your system? Or music? I think you have to have Media Center to record the movies and put them on DVD. With Media Player, you can only burn CDs of your music.

i end up recording about 15 min of sports. i will try tonight or morning. I right click and option to burn what ever that means.
i will let ya know.
