Windows 7 Minimum Requirements

Dear Friends,

I believe you should be able to run Windows 7 on less powerful hardware. I believe Windows 7 can be run comfortably with 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of Memory and 15GB of Hard drive space.

what do you think?
 
I think the official requiremts are:

A 1ghz CPU
1GB of RAM
and a DX9.0c compatible graphics card

I think that's it... of course, once you disable unecessary processes and services i would say that windows 7 could run on almost any half decent machine.

It does run..on the machine I mentioned above...

obviously it's slow..and don't even think about playing solitaire on it..but the fact is that Win7 seems to be able to run on virtual crap!

We did it more as a test and I was shocked that its usable!

At least it runs. That's cool though. I thought you cant install it below the minimum requirements but i guess you can. :)
 
It will run as you know,But not as fast/effecient as it should....Aero probably wont work,But i heard you can force it on somehow.

Windows 7 is a nice OS though,I run it on my current rig....My laptop...and my old desktop which consisted of a Sempron 2800 2ghz,1Gb of ram...9600 pro gfx,Ran quite nice considering.
 
ok, little off topic, and a nooby question, but how do you get a windows 7 rating??
